1950'lerin Türkiye'sinde kızılışılmış lakırtııpları zorlayan elbiseleri ve sahne davranışı ile halkın ilgisini durmadan olarak üstünde tutmayı başlangıçardı. Mesleğe mirladığı ilk yıllarda daha alelade giysiler ve saç stilleri taşımasına rağmen ileriki yıllarda kadınsı giysiler, saç modelleri ve makyajı ile sahnelerde alan aldı.
1955'te de Arena Tiyatrosu'nca sahneye koyulan Çkamer ve Sempati adlı oyunda da baş roldeki oyuncuydu. Ayrıca 'Bıldırcın Evetğmuru' isimli bir şiir kitabı da vardır.
Sarayda kaldığı dönemde Nikoğos Ağa ve çağdaş Aziz Mevla'den aldığı dersler ile klasik Türk müziği konusunda kendini geliştirdi, bestekârlık yeteneğini ilerletti.
